Ten to 15 new jobs will be created at McDonalds in Bracknell this year.

The new jobs come as part of the creation of at least 2,500 new jobs across the country throughout 2012.

Stephen Braham, 18, a shift manager McDonalds in Bracknell, said: “McDonald’s was the first place I applied to when I left school as I wanted to progress within a well-known company.

“When my manager mentioned the apprenticeship scheme, I knew it would give me a chance to shine and jumped at the chance to enrol.

“I’m proud to say that I was the first person in Berkshire to complete the course.

“The training I received through the apprenticeship scheme is some of the best in the hospitality industry.

“It not only helped me understand the job but also improved my basic maths and English skills.

“I feel incredibly lucky to work at a company that invests so much in its people.”

McDonalds have copied this idea from Next; another retail company that will go to any length to avoid paying the minimum wage. I assume like Next, McDonalds will be putting their full time staff on 16 hour week contracts so that they don't have to pay proper holiday pay.

Someone has to flip burgers for all those other moronic louts who leave their litter all over Mill Park.

Maybe these posts are for litter pickers - they won't be short of work.

McDonalds are such a great company, creating all these new sub minimum wage, training jobs. With hospitality training from a prestigious company like McDonalds, I am sure these new trainees will be snapped up by top class hotels and restaurants the moment they finish their training.

Don't listen to those kill joys who make out that McDonalds have created these jobs to replace proper minimum wage jobs as some sort of cost cutting to increase profits. We all know that the staffing levels are too low at McDonalds in Bracknell, and we are looking forward to the speedier service and faster table wiping that these 15 extra jobs will bring.
