Tesco Home Plus may close

Tesco could be looking to close its Home Plus stores and focus on its grocery business.

National press this week reported the supermarket giant is looking to exit leases on all 13 of its Home Plus shops, one of which is based at The Peel Centre in Bracknell.

The speculation comes after Tesco chief executive Philip Clarke said despite record festive sales bosses were “disappointed” with trading during Christmas and New Year.

A spokesman for Tesco said the company “would not comment on speculation”.

We have bought some things from Tesco Home plus - cookware mostly, that isn't in the other stores. However, we were very disappointed with the customer service when we had an issue with a bicycle we bought there.

Most of the homeware stuff is far too low quality, even for the price!
