Libraries in Bracknell Forest have a host of festive activities planned for visitors throughout this month.
The fun starts at Crowthorne Library, in High Street, tomorrow night when Santa Claus will pay a visit as part of the village’s late-night shopping event.
On Tuesday, mums, dads and carers can join in some Christmas rhymes and songs for babies and toddlers at the library between 9.30am and 10.30am.
On the same day, Ascot Heath Library, in Fernbank Road, is inviting older visitors to share their thoughts on past festivities and enjoy a few mince pies at the Christmas memories coffee morning.
The free event starts at 10.30am but places must be booked by calling (01344) 884 030 or emailling firstname.lastname@example.org.
The library will also host a Christmas craft activity for children, accompanied by parents or carers, on Monday, December 12, between 2.30pm and 4pm.
Sandhurst Library in The Broadway is offering Christmas stories, rhymes and crafts for pre-school children on Monday at 9.30am, and a reminiscences session for older residents later that day from 2pm.
A Christmas story time session will take place at Bracknell Library in the town centre from 10am on Monday, December 19, and Birch Hill Library, in Leppington, will offer Christmas stories for children from 11am on Tuesday, December 20, and a Christmas coffee morning with mince pies on Thursday, December 22.
Binfield Library in Benetfeld Road is repeating its popular Christmas bedtime stories event on Tuesday, December 20, and younger visitors are invited to turn up at 6pm in pyjamas and slippers for stories round the fireside.
Great Hollands Library, in The Square, has stories, puzzles and activities from 3.40pm on Friday, December 23.
Councillor Iain McCracken, executive member for culture, corporate services and public protection, said: “These are just a few highlights of the festive events and activities across all Bracknell Forest libraries in the build-up to Christmas.
“There’s something for all ages and interests, and we hope that residents will join in the festive spirit and make the most of what we have to offer.”
