Marmalade jam gets Weather Vane fun day rocking

September 03, 2010

Youngsters with learning disabilities from Radio Marmalade spun the tunes at a family fun day at a Bracknell pub.

The young DJs work with The Ark charity based at The Ark Studio in Ravenswood Village, Crowthorne, and were in charge of the music for the event on Monday at the Weather Vane in Arlington Square, Bracknell.

They have been taking part in a project run by the charity called Radio Marmalade and enjoying radio training courses.

There was also a live band, as well as party games, a treasure hunt and youngsters had their faces painted.

Staff at the pub all came to work wearing pyjamas for the event, which raised £84 for the charity.

Lee Futcher, general manager at the pub, said: “The fun day went really well.

“There was a good turnout and the users of The Ark charity did a really good job with the music.

“Our staff all had great fun coming to work in their pyjamas.”
