New service to find people jobs – and support

August 31, 2010

Want a job or change of career  –  get a helping hand from a newly-launched council service.

Bracknell Forest Council has released BFC My Job Search which lets people search for a new job and find training advice and benefit information at the same time.

The scheme works in tandem with BFC My Choice, a recently released launched scheme which helps people get on the housing ladder.

Councillor Dale Birch, executive member for adult services, health and housing, said: “We already help people choose a new home and now, if they can’t afford their dream home, BFC My Job Search can provide them the support and information to help them improve their employment prospects, get a better job or find advice on the impact on their benefits if they take up work.

“The BFC My Job Search scheme will make it much easier for people to decide what they want to do and get the right help.”

BFC My Job Search offers advice and guidance on applying for jobs, writing a CV, improving skills through training and volunteering and information about benefits.

It also links to a list of job vacancies.
