We really DO love Bracknell

August 27, 2010

A spectacular mechanical head with enormous inflatable arms attracted startled gazes as a day of music and dance brought a summer of entertainment to an end on Saturday.

Brainwave, a streetshow put on by The Whalley Range Allstars, was the dramatic centrepiece of the event showing off music, dance, theatre and humour in the town centre.

Brainwave set out to delve into the inner workings of the human psyche, by offering a glimpse inside someone’s head.

The world’s smallest travelling vaudeville show, Ramshaklicious, provided chaotic entertainment.

Reading five-piece band La Mort Subite helped bring people back to reality and had them swaying to the band’s Parisian café style music.

Saturday’s event was laid on by the Bracknell Regeneration Partnership (BRP) and Bracknell Forest Council. BRP spokeswoman Helen Barnett said: “It’s been a great month of music and dance events and Saturday’s performances were no exception.

“The time and effort that has been put into these brilliant productions is evident and I was so pleased to see shoppers getting involved and thoroughly enjoying themselves.”

A new series of events for Bracknell Fashion Week starts on Saturday, September 16.
