Festival in memory of Tyler raises £20,000

August 27, 2010

A festival in memory of a man who died following an epileptic seizure last year raised more than £20,000 for charities.

The Great Hollands Fun Day Festival was held on Saturday and attracted more than 2,000 people.

And organisers say they want to do it again next year but make it “10 times bigger and better”.

The event, which took place at Great Hollands School in Wordsworth, was organised by friends and family of Tyler Mosely who died, aged 25, in October last year.

It included music, stalls, food, a beer tent provided by the the William Twigg pub, karaoke, an auction and more.

Organiser Paul ‘Nifty’ Hughes said: “It was brilliant, absolutely fantastic.

“We had 2,000 people come through the gate – we only expected 800 to 1,000 people and we doubled that.

“We’ve raised more than £20,000 for charities so we’re very happy with the outcome.”

Nifty said he is already looking into holding the festival again next year.

He added: “We’re in talks but I want to keep the datails quiet for now.

“We want it to be 10 times bigger and 10 times better than this year.”
