Euro MP is ‘most influential woman’

Euro MP Sharon Bowles, pictured, has been named the most influential woman in European finance.
Lib Dem Sharon, who represents Berkshire in the European Parliament, was top of four women who made their way into the Top 100 most influential people in European Finance, published by Financial News.
She is also one of only a handful of politicians to be featured among the finance professionals.
Sharon, who chairs the European Parliament’s Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee, said: “I am flattered to have been named as the most influential woman in European finance. There has been a flurry of new regulation this year on the back of the financial crisis and last week my work to rein in bankers’ bonuses was passed in to EU law.
“I will continue, in my role as chair of the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee, to do my best to help shape new, effective, and fair legislation to help prevent another financial crisis.”
