Driver rescued after car trapped under lorry

By Mike Pyle
February 24, 2010

Firefighters used cutting equipment to get a driver out of his car when it became trapped underneath a lorry in a crash on the A329(M) last night.

The incident happened at around 7.50pm last night on the motorway between the slip road lead-ing to the Coppid Beech roundabout and the roundabout where Doncastle Way meets the A329(M).

A Bracknell firefighter said: “I don’t know how it happened but the car – a turquoise fiesta – was trapped under the lorry.

“We had to stabilise the vehicles and make them safe and we cut the roof off the car to get the casualty.”

The driver is believed to have injured his right leg and was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Fire crews were on the scene for about two hours.
