The family of crash victim Kyle McCants have paid tribute a young man with ‘an extraordinary passion for life’.

His family said: “On Monday our son, brother and best friend was lost forever.

“The light within Kyle, however, can never be lifted away from our hearts.

“He was a young man who possessed an extraordinary passion for life.

“He completely and unreservedly loved his family, his friends, and his dog Jake.

“The outpouring of huge emotion at his passing confirmed to us that his friends loved him too.”

They added: “Kyle worked locally as a bartender and not only loved his job, but also the friends he worked with.

“He was a fun loving, friendly happy lad who will be sorely missed by all his friends and family.”

Kyle, who was born in Houston, Texas, received his first Canadian passport aged three and became a British citizen last year.

His family added: “He was proud to be part of all three countries, but his loyalty was demonstrated by his firm decision to remain in this country.”

The driver of the car, a 26-year-old Hertfordshire man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and bailed until Friday, April 30.

Police are keen to speak to the driver of a black car who stopped to help after the incident.
