Dog's head gets stuck in cat flap

November 05, 2009

An inquisitive pooch had to be rescued by firefighters after he got his head stuck in a cat flap.

Yarg, a German Shepherd, got his head caught at his owners’ home in Parkland Drive, Bullbrook, at around 8.45pm on Friday.

Yarg’s owners called the fire service when it became clear the stuck pup was going nowhere.

Bracknell firefighter Dave Budge said: “They had tape over the flap to stop things going through it but he’d managed to stick his head through and then couldn’t get it out.

“It was a wooden door and his owner kept him calm while we got a saw and made a couple of cuts in the door to make the hole bigger so he could release himself.”

Get well soon, Yarg! That's a lovely name for a dog. Woof woof!
