Tories choose GP Phillip Lee to stand in Bracknell
October 18, 2009
GP Phillip Lee has been voted Bracknell's new Conservative party political candidate.
After four separate votes, the Maidenhead doctor finally finished ahead of second placed Rory Stewart.
More than 300 people turned up to the Blue Mountain Golf Course in Wood Lane, Binfield, to vote him in.
Mr Lee, who has worked extensively in surgeries around Bracknell and Finchampstead, said he was "ectastic" to win but warned the hard work begins now as still only the candidate.
He replaces Andrew MacKay who announced he was standing down following revelations in the MP's second home expenses scandal.
