More moving out of Bracknell than moving in

October 13, 2009

More people are leaving Bracknell than moving here according to new figures.

For the year from mid-2007 to mid-2008, 6,200 people moved out of Bracknell Forest compared to 6,000 who moved to the borough.

In Wokingham, it was the opposite with 9,800 in and 9,200 out.

Neal MacKenzie, managing director of estate agent Michael Hardy in Wokingham believes people are defecting from Bracknell for Wokingham because of the schools.

He said: “People come from places like Bracknell because they think Wokingham is a better place

“One of the big things is the schools which have an excellent reputation.”

Unfortunately I'm stuck in Bracknell, I couldn't quite afford Wokingham... but at least I managed to get into Forest Park rather than Great Hollands

Wokingham is a better place - better schools, better pubs, a nicer atmosphere. Bracknell is full of yobs and lowlifes who scrounge off benefits instead of working for a living, and also very overpriced.
