New #tag for Bracknell twitterers

June 11, 2009

Internet expert Tom Canning has developed a new hash tag for twitter users in Bracknell.

Twitter users send out 140 character messages or 'tweets' which other users subscribe to.

The hash tags (#tag) are shortened versions of popular search terms which are added to tweets so that people can find what they are looking for more efficiently.

Until now there has not been a #tag for Bracknell but  25-year-old internet developer Tom has come up with #bck for the town.

Anyone twittering about Bracknell can now include the tag #bck in their tweets to help others find out about what is happening in the town.

Tom said "I practically live on-line and this gives me a way of keeping in touch with other twitterers in the Bracknell area".

You can follow Tom's tweets at http://twitter.com/tomcanning83
