Bracknell Forest is vibrant, says former mayor
May 21, 2009
Bracknell Forest is a vibrant place below its surface, according to former borough mayor councillor Bob Edger.
The Tory councillor made the comment during a speech marking the end of his year as mayor of Bracknell Forest Council.
Cllr Edger received a vote of thanks from fellow councillors at the borough's annual meeting earlier this month when he passed on the mayoral chains to his successor, cllr Bob Wade.
In his speech cllr Edger said Bracknell Forest was a "borough of hugely diverse substance and talent that we can truly be proud about".
With the help of mayoress and wife Sigi, cllr Edger raised more than £16,500 for charity Childline.
