A man was seriously injured in a rush-hour crash on a main Bracknell road yesterday afternoon.

The man had to be cut free from his Ford Escort after it was involved in a collsion with a light pick-up truck in Mill Lane shortly before 4pm.

He was taken to Wexham Park Hospital by air ambulance with was emergency services have described as serious injuries.

Two men and a woman who were in the pick-up truck needed medical attention for minor injuries.

Fire crews from Bracknell and Slough were called to the scene to deal with the crash.

Firefighter Tim Weekes, Bracknell crew manager, said: “It took about 45 minutes to cut him out and from that point of view was fairly straight forward.

“I’d guess the Escort is a write-off and the truck didn’t look too well either.”

Mill Lane was shut for at least two hours after the crash while police and collision investigator worked at the scene.

Anyone with information can call sergeant Grant Thomas on 08458 595 505.
