Four masked men are being hunted by police after they broke into a house, handcuffed the occupants and stole £20,000 in cash and jewellery.

The offenders carried crowbars as they stormed through a rear window into the home in Kennel Avenue, Ascot, at about 10pm last night, said police.

The victims, a husband and wife aged 61 and 59, said three of the balaclava-wearing foursome had eastern European accents.

The fourth was possibly British, they said.

No-one was injured in the incident.

Det Con Mark Barnikel said they were “pursuing several lines of inquiry”.

He added: “I urge anyone who saw anything at all suspicious in the area throughout yesterday to get in touch as soon as possible.”

Call Det Con Barnikel on 0845 8 505 505 or leave information anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
