A carjacker has pleaded guilty to threatening a 79-year-old woman with a screwdriver before stealing her car.
The woman was leaving the Bracknell Leisure Centre car park in Bagshot Road on July 26 this year when Shane John Charles Richardson, 25, of Mount Lane in Bracknell approached her car and threatened her with an object thought to be a screwdriver.
He told her to get out of her grey VW Golf, which he then stole, and drove off toward the roundabout where Bagshot Road meets the A329.
The stolen car was recovered in South London on August 14.
Richardson pleaded guilty to the crime, which took place in broad daylight between 11am and 11.15am, when he appeared at Reading Crown Court yesterday.
He has been remanded in custody until he returns to Reading Crown Court on January 30 next year for sentencing.
