Man injured in Mercs garage blaze

A fire at an upmarket car showroom and garage has left it damaged and without electricity.

Firefighters were called to the Mercedes-Benz garage in London Road, Bracknell, at 5.20pm yesterday.

A fire damaged cars in the showroom and the workshop in the garage.

It took 14 firefighters from Bracknell, Ascot, Wokingham and Crowthorne more than three hours to put out the blaze.

One member of staff suffering from burns to his face and body was taken to hospital in an ambulance.

A police spokeswoman said his injuries were serious but not life-threatening.
