Families are in good company for party revels

As company's days out go, a Bracknell firm’s bash at the weekend takes some beating.

Staff at 3M’s Family Fun Day on Sunday turned out to enjoy a day in the sun on the field behind the offices in Cain Road, Binfield.

There was plenty for the whole family to do.

Face painting, mini-train rides, laser quest, volley ball and all manner of inflatables were on offer for the children, and a free barbecue and bar were there for the grown-ups.

Among a variety of stalls and raffles the Bracknell Bees were on hand to let children have a go at hockey and meet some of their players, including head coach Adam Bicknell and players Joe Greener, Matt Foord, Danny House and a mystery new player the Bees haven’t even announced yet. The Bracknell Forest Standard team were there too handing out goodie bags and answering any questions about the business.

John Klee, corporate communications manager for 3M, said: “We’re a good company with great employees and this is our way of paying something back to them.

“It’s a great way to have a nice day meeting each other’s families.”

Guests had come from far and wide including the family of Vivienne Foss members of which had made the journey from America, Scotland, Wales – and Finchampstead – for the day.

She said: “It’s been brilliant.

“I am delighted for the 3M group that we’ve got this wonderful weather.”

Berks Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust received £1,000 and the Red Cross £750 from donations and a raffle.
