‘Terrific carnival’ hailed a success

July 18, 2008

Crowthorne's week-long village carnival has been hailed as a success by the organisers who now begin the lengthy process of counting the money they have raised.

The committee are in the process of totting up and dividing out money raised through the event, which ran from July 5 to July 13 and started with a procession and summer fete.

The festival also featured quizzes, an Elvis impersonator, a tea party, a barn dance and more.

Carnival chairman Ken Newland said: “It’s been absolutely terrific – it worked out even better than we expected.”
