Council looks to cut its carbon

9/ 6/2008

Cutting down on carbon emissions is one of the aims of the council, after it signed up to the Carbon Trust pledge.

Bracknell Forest Borough Council is looking at ways to reduce its carbon footprint by 518,000 tonnes.

Measures include the new civic hub – the council offices – which will use efficient ways to provide power.

Carbon Trust public sector manager Tom Cumberlege said: “The good news is that energy is one of the largest controllable overheads for councils and implementing good carbon management can lead to significant savings on bills.”
