Help out in homes

April 16, 2008

A domestic help service for elderly and vulnerable people is looking for more helpers.

Bracknell Forest Domestic Support Service has been so popular since it was set up in October, it needs more helpers.

Gwen Francis, a member of the team which provides help to  vulnerable or elderly people with housework, shopping and other jobs, said: “So far we have had fantastic feedback about the service.

“Clients have praised us for our dedication, punctuality and valuable service.”

The service costs £9 an hour and the rest is paid for by the Bracknell Forest Borough Council and run through Bracknell Forest Voluntary Action.

Dale Birch, executive member for adult services, health and housing, said: “Sometime day-to-day tasks can be a struggle for our older or vulnerable residents.

“By utilising this affordable service, residents can continue to live independently for many years to come.”

If you want to help, call Gemma or Katie on (01344) 383516 or email domsupport@bfva.org.
