Licence to sell booze 16 hours a day

April 11, 2008

A newsagent has been granted a licence to sell alcohol 16 hours a day despite lengthy protests from people living in Birch Hill.

McColl's in Liscombe will be able to sell booze between 6am and 10pm. Neighbours were worried it would fuel anti-social behaviour around the parade of shops already suffering following the departure of Waitrose.

But Bracknell Forest Borough Council's licensing committee approved the application following a lengthy meeting on Wednesday.
