Farm friends as little donkeys drop into class

By Lorna Catling

Cuddly critters took over a playground for the day so children could go down on the farm.

Crown Wood Primary School, Opladen Way, got a visit from donkeys Liquorice and Chocolate as well as ponies, ducks, chickens, chicks, pigs and rabbits last week.

The animals, from Millers Ark Animals, spent the day in pens on the playground while the children came out in their year groups to pat, feed, brush and cuddle them.

Nursery teacher Anna Scott said: “The children have really loved it because they got to stroke the animals.

“We have been doing a fairytales theme in nursery at the moment with frog princes and ugly ducklings, so it’s nice for them to see the real thing."
