Splish splash, I was taken aback!

Meet little Charlie Clark, the boy-wonder who’s made a real splash at his swimming lessons.

The three-year-old, from Droitwich Close, Bracknell, started swimming lessons when he was six months old.

He has amazed his mum and swimming teacher Damien O’Toole with his progress.

Damien said: “We have never seen anything like it in a child of his age. He can swim a whole length [25m] completely unaided. It’s amazing, I’ve never known a child of his age who can do it.

“He absolutely loves it.”

Plucky Charlie happily leaps into the pool and paddles up and down like a pro.

Mum Lorraine, who also works at the swim school, said: “He just has no fear.

“He’s got a beautiful little stroke and can do a brilliant breast-stroke all on his own.

“He’s always loved swimming so who knows what the future holds for him.”

A spokeswoman for the British Swimming Amateur Swimming Association said: “We are very encouraged to hear how well Charlie can swim at just three years old and that he is enjoying his time in the water so much.

“Obviously every child will progress at a different rate but he is doing very well.”
