Roundabout energy centre plan shelved by council

By Hugh Fort
August 23, 2006

Plans for a controversial scheme to build an energy centre in Priestwood have been shelved.

The centre, which would have generated energy by burning wood chippings, was part of Bracknell Forest Borough Council and town centre landlords Bracknell Regeneration Partnership’s (BRP) ambitious plans for the redevelopment of the town centre.

However, bosses have been forced into a rethink of their plans as nobody has come forward to run the plant.

For full story see The Bracknell Times 23/08/2006.
