ALCOHOL AND DRUG REHAB CENTRE TO DOUBLE IN SIZE

By Hugh Fort
March 29, 2006

BRACKNELL’S drug and alcohol centre is due to double in size after council bosses gave the thumbs up to plans to expand.
Bracknell Forest Borough Council’s planning committee gave the green light for Bracknell Forest’s Drug and Action Team to extend its existing centre in Broadway and knock through to a vacant office building next door at a meeting last Thursday.
The centre, called New Hope, is a service for people and their families who may need help, information and advice on drug or alcohol related problems.
The New Hope centre opened last July and its staff see more than 100 clients every week.
Under its plans for extension, New Hope will build a larger reception area, have more space for group work activities and install new computers for clients to use for online learning.

See this week's The Bracknell & Ascot Times for the full story.
