St Teresa's pupils experience life in Victorian times

Pupils journeyed back in time to experience Victorian life at St Teresa’s Catholic Primary School.

Curious Year Five and Six children tried on corsets and bustles as part of their Victorian day at the Easthampstead Road school.

Teacher Michelle Law said: “It was really good fun.

“They have been learning about the Victorians in a topic this term and this was bringing it to life in the most active way.

“We had a Victorian workshop with drama and dancing and the children got to handle some artefacts.”

She added: “I think they couldn’t believe how long it took to get the clothes on and off and how difficult it was to walk in them.

“They got to experience life in a Victorian class – sitting in rows with lots of listening.”

Staff joined youngsters in dressing up for the historical fun last month.
