By Laura Herbert
February 21, 2013

An adventurer spoke to secondary school pupils about his expeditions as he launched his latest book.

Author and filmmaker Matt Dickinson chatted to pupils at The Emmbrook School about his series Mortal Chaos, aimed at teenagers.

During his visit on February 11, Mr Dickinson spoke about his adventures climbing Mount Everest and his work as a filmmaker for National Geographic, the Discovery Channel and the BBC.

Barbara Band, head of library and resources at the school, said: “He gave two talks, one to our Year Sevens and Year Eights and one to about 20 Duke of Edinburgh students, talking about his expeditions and how he ate 30 chocolate bars a week when he was on them. He also spoke about how ‘you need to have a dream and plans, otherwise it stays a dream’.”
