St Nicholas pupils have pan-tastic Shrove Tuesday

By Jon Nurse
February 20, 2013

Pan-tastic runners raced across their school as they celebrated Pancake Day.

Shrove Tuesday couldn’t have been any batter for pupils at St Nicholas Primary School, in Hurst, as all classes, from Foundation Stage through to Year Six, ran lengths of the school playground in a series of exciting races.

Children completed two lengths of the track, tossing their pancakes in the frying pans as they ran.

The racers were rewarded with sweets for their efforts.

The event was organised by Martin Hodgkins, chair of the School Road primary’s PTA.

Headteacher Christine Hyatt said: “There was lots of fun and lots of laughter. The children really enjoyed the afternoon.”
