Finchampstead youngsters welcome in the Chinese Year of the Snake

By Jon Nurse
February 19, 2013

The Chinese Year of the Snake was welcomed in with collages and crafts at a Finchampstead nursery.

Youngsters at Stepping Stones Nursery in Nine Mile Ride celebrated the Chinese New Year on Friday. Manager Kirsty Cordery said: “We had a competition to find the best snake collages and the children and parents were very creative.” A snake moulded with a range of materials by Joshua Brundell, two, was picked as the nursery’s best, followed closely by edible serpent made by Myles Fincham, two.

The group tucked into an oriental meal of sweet and sour chicken with prawn crackers prepared by chef Emma Farrow-Thomas.
