Keep Hatch pupils go back to Victorian days

By Laura Herbert
December 03, 2012

History was brought alive at Keep Hatch Primary School when pupils experienced life as a Victorian school child.

Year Five pupils dressed up and took part in reading, writing, arithmetic and spelling lessons all taught in a Victorian manner at the school in Ashridge Road.

The children had to follow Victorian school rules – and discovered breaking them led to the dunce hat being worn.

Pupil Mia, nine, said: β€œIt was a fun day, but it was quite hard work being a Victorian child.”
