By Laura Herbert

Holme Grange School has pledged to inspire others to enjoy sport.

Lord Moynihan, chairman of the British Olympic Association, is encouraging independent schools, like Holme Grange, to share sports facilities with state schools.

Pupils at the school in Heathlands Road are taught sport from reception year and representatives regularly visit other schools to offer sports training and guidance.

A spokeswoman said: “We look forward to the pupils returning from their summer holidays with huge enthusiasm for their games lessons, extra-curricular clubs (including judo, gymnastics and dance), daily sports lessons, fixtures and tournaments.

“Holme Grange has wonderful facilities – pitches for rugby, football and cricket, artificial turf pitches for hockey and netball, a sports hall and swimming pool.

“The woodland and fields provide a wonderful setting for cross-country runs.”
