By Hugh Fort
August 31, 2012

It was another record-breaking year at Sandhurst School with a big jump in pupils’ results.

Staff at the school are delighted with this year’s GCSE results, which include 64 per cent of the pupils getting five or more A* to C grades, a 12 per cent rise from last year’s figure of 52 per cent.

The school recorded a 100 per cent pass rate of students passing five exams and 70 per cent of students passed their maths exams.

Students also recorded 100 per cent pass rate in German and music.

Assistant headteacher Simon Bamford said: “These record results reflect both the hard work of students and the commitment and dedication of staff who have worked tirelessly to support students in their learning.

“We are thrilled by the achievements of our students and look forward to seeing many of them to continue their studies in September.”

One of the school’s whizkids was John Puddy, who got a whopping 10 A*s and an A. He is going off to take advantage of the new sixth form at Edgbarrow School in Crowthorne and said he was ‘very pleased’.

Another superstar at the school was Oriana Dempsey, who was collecting her results with her ‘very proud’ mum Sarah.

Oriana, who was whizzing off to Reading Festival, achieved A*s and As in all 11 subjects.

Amy Buckfield got four A*s, six As and is heading off to a new school in Godalming where her family is moving to.
