GCSE results: Edgbarrow School

By Hugh Fort
August 31, 2012

"Absolute delight" was the reaction to pupils’ GCSE results from the headteacher of Edgbarrow School.

Students achieved the best results yet with 99 per cent achieving five or more A* to C and 80 per cent achieving five A* to C grades including maths and English.

Headteacher Bob Elsey said: “We are absolutely delighted with this year’s results which are the best set of results the school has ever achieved.

“Many congratulations to all the students and their families and a huge thank you to the staff for all the support and guidance they have given.

“These results are hugely rewarding and a reflection of the hard work and commitment shown by students and staff alike. I hope these individual results will open doors to courses and opportunities.

“The Year 11s have been a fantastic group of students and we look forward to working with many of them as they move on to our sixth form – for those that are leaving us after five years, we wish them every success for the future
