Pupils at Brakenhale School celebrated record results this year and a 98 per cent pass rate.

The school, in Rectory Road, Easthampstead, recorded 90 per cent of pupils taking the exams gaining A* to C grades and 44 per cent of pupils got five A* to C including English and maths.

Top performers included Raf Lipinski, 16, with ‘mostly A*s’ including IT, physics and maths, Fiona Gatland, with a mix of A*s, As and Bs, and Katie Papps, with nine A*s and 5As.

Katie, 16, said: “I am really pleased.

“I was quite nervous this morning.

“I am very glad to get the results.”

Pupil Jeffrey Asare, 16, was delighted with his results, a mix of A*s, As and Bs. He said: “I’m really pleased, I felt I worked really hard for these results.

“I’m coming back to the school to do A-levels and aim to go to university.”

Headteacher Paul Salter said “I would like to congratulate the students and staff on achieving these positive results which are due to considerable hard work and commitment on their part.”
