Pupils at The Emmbrook School have been given the chance to re-design Reading FC’s club logo as part of a competition.
Wokingham business House of Threads has teamed up with Reading FC Community Trust to run the competition with the winner announced during an afternoon at Madejski Stadium.
Fiona Sullivan, from House of Threads, said: “It is important to say Reading Football Club will not be changing their iconic badge.
“The club is allowing The Emmbrook students to use the image as a base for the competition. Students have been asked to re-design the club’s logo and to produce their work in whatever medium they wish.
“We’re not sure what to expect when the competition closes as students have free rein over how, and on what, their finished design will be produced.”
The winner will be announced on Thursday, July 19, with the winning design produced on 30 tops to be sold in Madejski Stadium Megastore on match day.
Three additional tops will be given to new owner Anton Zingarevich, chairman Sir John Madejski and manager Brian McDermott.
