Schoolgirl artist wins public vote

Student artwork was put to the public vote at Art233 gallery in Crowthorne.
Year Nine pupils from LVS Ascot displayed work during April and visitors could vote for their favourite.
Winner Sakura Funakoshi said: “I am extremely proud of my achievement although a little overwhelmed by the whole experience.” Sakura, 14, was presented with the prize of her artwork framed, by gallery owner Peter Elmore on Thursday, May 17.
Mr Elmore, who runs the independent gallery on Crowthorne High Street, said: “We were delighted to work with LVS on this competition as it gave us the opportunity to encourage students’ artistic talents. We are looking forward to collaborating with LVS.”
