Oaklands Infant pupils take trip back in time

February 08, 2010

Children at a Crowthorne school danced into the past and learned about history along the way.

Year 2 pupils at Oaklands Infant School in Butler Road learned Victorian dancing and songs when a guest from historical group Dance Back in Time came to visit on Friday, January 29.

Headteacher Miss Julie Sheppard said: “A couple of weeks ago we had a Victorian Day where all the children came in wearing Victorian outfits so this was a chance for them to do that again.

“The man from Dance Back in Time got dressed up with them and taught them various dances, songs like Daisy, Daisy and the National Anthem and some Victorian etiquette.

“All the children enjoyed it very much.”
