Suspected swine flu case in Bracknell

June 04, 2009

A suspected case of swine flu is being investigated at a Bracknell school, it has emerged.

Easthampstead Park School says one of its students has developed flu-like symptoms after travelling abroad.

The teenager has not been at school since returning and two others pupils who have been in contact with him have also been told to stay at home, Easthampstead Park bosses say.

In a statement on its website, the school insists it is operating as normal for lessons and examinations.

"We will of course be keeping a close eye on any developments but please let us know if you have any suspicions of your child or children being affected," the statement says.

"The school will operate as normal for both lessons and examinations.

"However, if the situation changes, you will be informed."

The case is currently being investigated by the NHS, the Ringmead school added.
