Pupils meet The Apprentice

November 18, 2008

A school in Wokingham was one of just three that was given the opportunity for pupils to learn from The Apprentice.

Forest sent a small group to hear lectures from Cobra Beer founder Karan Bilimoria, Raef Bjayou from the last series of the BBC hit show and Tim Campbell, Sir Alan’s first apprentice.

The Forest boys went to the Thames Valley University site in Brentford for the Chancellor’s lecture – former TVU student Baron Bilimoria is the chancellor and Mr Campbell also studied there.

The 12 A-level economics pupils joined around 200 TVU students to listen to the speakers and came away with a portfolio-ful of tips on what leads to success and how to make a business venture flourish.

The lectures were followed by presentations from five current TVU students with a business proposition, each delivering a five-minute pitch in ‘Apprentice’ style, which were judged by the audience.
