Homes move ‘unimpressive' says chief

21/ 3/2008

Plans by the Government to invest £15million in affordable housing across Berkshire, £3million of it in Bracknell Forest,  have not impressed a borough housing chief.

Cllr Dale Birch, deputy leader of Bracknell Forest Borough Council and the executive member for housing, said: “It just helps us fund what we have already identified.”

The Housing Corporation, the Government’s national affordable homes agency, announced the funds will come from its National Affordable Housing Programme for 2008 to 2011.

I agree gh. We should encourage people to move north, starting with all government departments. There is no need for all these people to be in London and the South East. Send 'em to Hartlepool.

To be honest, the Jealott's park development has not impressed me, let alone plans for MORE housing.

Exactly where do the government think the infrastructure exists to support all these extra homes. The A329(M), an already congested road, will be virtually crippled by the time Jealott's park is fully populated.

I'm sure we have more of the same to look forward to.

This unimaginative government should be encouraging people to move outside of the South East where there are PLENTY of homes rather than building more here and ruining what little countryside we have left.
