The new Citroën DS5 is somewhat of a statement. This bold addition to the already established DS line becomes the new flagship model for Citroën. And with an ultra-sharp approach to design and refinement, the DS5 becomes the ultra-modern car that is hoping to become the benchmark for the next generation of executive vehicle.
Inspired by the striking C-SportLounge concept car, the DS5 completes the current DS line-up. The DS line is an instantly recognisable range that appeals every spectrum of society, as all models in the range offer you loads of creative design, outstanding quality and desirable technology.

The new Citroën DS5 is basically trying to bridge the gap between traditional core ‘D’ segment models such as VW Passat and Vauxhall Insignia and manufacturers which are know more for their executive qualities like the Audi A4 or BMW 3 Series.
In keeping with the above-mentioned examples, the generous equipment specification, bold styling and innovative fuel-saving technologies will appeal directly to the needs of the corporate customer.
The driver-focused cockpit creates the driving position of a coupé with all the practicalities of a family car. Highlights include a wraparound dashboard and wide central console, both ergonomically positioned. The retractable colour head-up display projects essential driving information directly into the driver’s line of vision, whilst the stylish analogue clock adds a final touch of sophistication to DS5’s interior.
LED lighting appears throughout the car, bathing the DS5’s occupant in an ambient display of intermittent reds and whites that highlight the features the designers want you to see. Acoustic treatments also ensure a velvet-smooth atmosphere inside the cabin. There is excellent insulation from road and wind noise thanks to a manner of new technologies, like laminate on the windows.
DS5’s compact and agile design delivers exemplary handling for a thoroughly engaging driving experience. Dynamically tuned, the precise and direct steering gives drivers the immediate sensation of total and accurate control.
The DS5 is available from launch with a choice of four excellent Euro V engines – the THP 200 petrol, the e-HDi 110 and HDi 160 diesel and the new, 200bhp diesel-electric Hybrid4. The e-HDi 110 features their Stop & Start micro-hybrid technology that reduces CO2 emissions by up to 15% when driving in congested urban areas.
The turbocharged, direct injection petrol engine, which is co-developed with BMW, is a magnificent engine that delivers plenty of power and performance throughout the range.
The DS5 is the first DS Citroën fitted with Hybrid4 technology. The innovative system delivers outstanding performance and low CO2 emissions from just 99g/km. The financial benefits and impressive fuel economy are obvious. Being in the sub-100g/km CO2 bracket means this model is exempt from VED, the London congestion charge and has a benefit in kind tax rate of just 10%.
DS5 ownership starts at just £22,400 for the e-HDi 110, rising to £32,200 for the range-topping Hybrid4 DSport. The Citroën DS5 is available to pre-order now, with first deliveries from the official ‘on sale’ date of 2 April 2012.
