Pamper night for breast cancer support group

By David Millward
November 13, 2012

Women from a breast cancer support group were pampered at a new spa which has opened in the town centre.

Staff at the Beauty Retreat in John Lewis in Broad Street gave mini treatments from brands including Jessica nails and Liz Earle.

The treat for members of the Newbury Breast Care Support Group was timed to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness month.

The 120-strong group included a mix of cancer patients and women in remission as well as nurses and support workers.

Julie Adams, member of the support group and an assistant at John Lewis Reading, said: “As October is cancer awareness month we thought it would be a good time to organise an event for these ladies.

“It was a lovely opportunity for them to be pampered. We’ve received good feedback saying how much they all really enjoyed it.”
