But now the health-conscious rice cake manufacturer has produced chocolate-coated organic rice cakes which permit that little bit of indulgence along with virtuosity.

Kallo claims an individual one of its dark chocolate-coated cakes, made from 100 per cent natural ingredients, at only 53 calories, has 33 calories less than a regular chocolate digestive.

Kallo chocolate thins also come in milk chocolate, though slightly more calorific at 57Kcal. They’re available from Asda, Sainsbury’s priced £1.33 for milk and £1.34 for plain in 90g packs.
