Number of jobless claimants remains steady

December 16, 2011

Little change was seen in the jobless figures released this week for Reading and its neighbouring authorities.

The number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) in Reading borough in November stayed at 3.4 per cent of the working age population, or 3,659 people – just 20 fewer than in October.

West Berkshire’s figures also remained static at 1.8 per cent while Wokingham borough dropped slightly from 1.4 to 1.3 per cent.

Figures for the South East and the UK remained the same at 2.6 per cent and 3.8 per cent respectively.

Despite the best efforts of this govt the claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) in Reading borough in November remains low - I expect the govt will continue to try and increase it
