Connexions help for young jobseekers

January 27, 2010

Young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) and looking for a job can get help from Connexions Berkshire.

Connexions is offering help and advice to NEET jobseekers aged 13 to 19, or up to 25 for those with learning difficulties or disabilities.

The charity can help young people with CV writing, interview and presentation skills and to gain work experience. Young people from Reading joining any of the available schemes will automatically be entitled to £30 per week Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA).

Parents and carers of young people on the course may be eligible for £80 per month Child Benefit and Children’s Tax Credits.

To make an appointment or find out more about schemes to help young people email reading@connexions-berkshire.org.uk or call 0845 408 5004. Alternatively drop into the centre in Friar Street between 9am and 5pm Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays or between 9am and 4pm on Thursdays.
