Tree of Light finale at Stonor Park
July 18, 2012
Singers, dancers and musicians from Reading who have devoted hours to the Tree of Light over the last year are ready for the grand finale.
The project involves almost 2,000 performers of all ages and they will come together for one last spectacular show in Henley on Saturday.
The industrial ‘tree’ set, by acclaimed set designers Block9, promises to be as stunning as the performers. It is a towering concrete and glass structure with flashing coloured lights that belches ‘steam’ as the singers and dancers tell the story of trees in an age of environmental catastrophe.
The Tree of Light is part of the Cultural Olympiad and has been funded by Legacy Trust UK to inspire creativity and create a lasting impact from London 2012.
Tickets for Saturday’s finale at Stonor Park are £10 from www.thetreeoflight.org
