Box Office Hot Tickets in Berkshire

April 28, 2010

A new comedy night gets under way at The Jazz Café tonight.

Every evening will combine food with laughs and all for just a tenner.

Tonight’s line-up is compered by Dan Evans, a sidekick for Rory Bremner.

The other acts are Chris Mayo (pictured), who has starred in The IT Crowd, Dublin-born comic Mary Bourke and Andi Osho, who has made people laugh on Mock The Week.

The over 18s night starts from 7pm, with the first act on at 8.30pm. For more details, or to book tickets, call 0118 9681 442 or log on to www.thejazzcafe.co.uk.

Shams theatre company returns to South Street next week to present a fully developed production of Reykjavik. The group were last here previewing the show last year.

The play promises to be a journey through a city of extremes – mysterious, absurd and beautiful – in search of a half-forgotten love affair.

It has performances on Wednesday, May 5 and Thursday, May 6. For details, call the box office on (0118) 960 6060 or log on to www.readingarts.com.

Next month, Tilehurst’s Triangle Players will return with their latest show.

The amateur group will present its production of the Norman Robbins thriller Prescription For Murder.

The show has just two performances – Friday, May 14, and Saturday, May 16 – at the Hall behind the Methodist Church, School Road, Tilehurst, both at 7.45pm.

Tickets, which cost £6 for adults and £5 for concessions, and are available either from The

Wool Shop, The Triangle, Tilehurst or by calling (0118) 967 8168.

On Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday, pupils from the Allied Schools of Dance will present its latest stage show, Art On The Move.

The youngsters will be performing on the Wilde Theatre stage at South Hill Park, with performances at 5.30pm on Sunday and, on Monday, a matinee at 1pm and a further show at 6.30pm.

The show is an opportunity for members of the group to show off what they’ve learnt while at the school.

Tickets cost £12, £10 for seniors and £8 for children and students.

They’re available from the South Hill Park box office on (01344) 484123 or logging on to www.southhillpark.org.uk.
